BLACKPINK’s Jennie Shines At 2024 Met Gala In Her Bold Dress, “It Took 200 Hours To Complete”

On May 6th (local time), Met Gala, the largest event in the fashion industry, took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York, US. BLACKPINK’s Jennie attended the event for the second consecutive year.

Jennie showed up wearing a cobalt blue dress by the brand Alaia with a unique style of looking like a flowing stream. The dress drew particular attention with its bold design revealing Jennie’s belly. The BLACKPINK member highlighted her outfit by adding accessories such as fancy chains and pearl drop earrings. Jennie showed off her beauty with her relaxed expressions.

In fact, the dress was inspired by the looks presented at the Fall fashion show in the summer of 2024. It took more than 200 hours to complete the outfit and a fabric of 13m was reportedly used for the production.

With this dress, Jennie was selected as one of the best dressers for the 2024 Met Gala by Harper’s Bazaar. The fashion magazine said, “This collection focuses on restoring intimacy to its essence and you can definitely feel the essence of Met Gala through the glamorous beauty and the right expression of skin in Jennie’s fashion”.

In an interview after the Met Gala event, Jennie said to Vogue, “We did several fittings and meetings to discuss various things, from the color to the fabric. We used 13m of fabric to make it”, adding “I’m more relaxed compared to last year, but everything still confuses me. I was so nervous last year and I think I can do better this time”.

Meanwhile, the theme of the 2024 Met Gala was “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” with “The Garden of Time” as the official dresscode.
