Baekhyun’s Birthday Cafe Event Receives Mixed Responses, “He Opened It To Earn Money From Fans?”
Baekhyun celebrated his birthday on May 6th by holding a birthday cafe event at a cafe in Mapo, Seoul to share special memories with fans.
The birthday cafe event, which began on the 4th, was held amid enthusiastic interest from fans. Expecting a large crowd, safety rules, including numbering tickets on a first-come-first-serve basis from 10 a.m., were announced even before the event. 10 minutes before the event, fans entered the cafe sequentially according to their numbers.
As expected, the scene was crowded with a large number of fans. After the event, reviews about the birthday cafe event poured out in online communities, and unexpected situations as well as problems that took place during the event were also revealed.
According to reviews, fans gathered at the venue early in the morning before the cafe opened at 10:30 a.m. Due to restricted slots as only 50 people were allowed to enter the cafe per session of 30 minutes, the rotation was slow, resulting in continuously long waiting time.
There was even an incident in which the police were dispatched to the scene after receiving complaints about the crowds. It is because the long waiting line affected the business of other stores. Therefore, fans recommended online reservation method should be used rather than the first-come-first-serve numbering system.
In addition, some people also discussed the prices for cafe drinks and set menu at the event, pointing out that the items were more expensive than at other birthday cafe events. A fan complained, “Isn’t it too much when you organized your own birthday cafe event then sold drinks and desserts at higher prices?”.

Some fans who came to the event in the afternoon expressed disappointment that couldn’t buy any drinks, desserts, or set products due to insufficient prepared quantities.
