tvN’s entertainment show “You Quiz on the Block” (You Quiz), which has recently been on a roll after its break, is in crisis.
According to the Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC) on Nov 22nd, “You Quiz” was subject to deliberation for violating Article 46 (advertising effect) of the Regulations on Broadcasting Deliberation.
Depending on the seriousness of the case, KCSC takes measures such as no problem, presentation of opinion, recommendation, caution, warning, correction/revision/suspension of the broadcast program, disciplinary action against the people concerned on the broadcast program and fines. Accordingly, KCSC decided to issue a “recommendation” corresponding to administrative guidance towards “You Quiz”.
The scene in question is in the July 20th episode. Alan Kim, who appeared in the movie “Minari”, appeared on this day’s broadcast.
Jo Se Ho wore an outfit that revealed the symbolic design pattern of “Thom Browne”. However, this became more problematic because it was known as a product that did not have an official sponsorship contract.
Alan Kim also revealed that he received clothes as a gift from the brand when they heard that he was participating in “You Quiz”. Besides, Yoo Jae Suk continued to mention the brand directly, “Thom Browne sponsored Alan for his appearance on ‘You Quiz’ while Jo Se Ho bought Thom Browne’s clothes himself.”
