“What a heartwarming scene”… Two actresses draw admiration with their strong friendship despite having a 41-year age gap

Han Ji-min boasted about the gift she received from Kim Hye-ja, proving their close relationship overcoming a huge age gap.

On August 22nd, Han Ji-min released a photo on her Instagram story along with the caption “Ground cherries from Kim Hye-ja sunbaenim”.

The released photo show actress Kim Hye-ja holding ground berries in her hands. The fresh berries on Kim Hye-ja hands remind netizens of the buzzword “Hyeja-like”, which is derived from Kim Hye-ja’s famous line referring to anything that is cheap but has good quality.

Han Ji-min was born in 1982 while Kim Hye-ja was born in 1941. Although the two have a huge age difference of 40 years, they maintain a strong friendship through their acting activities.

They worked together through JTBC’s drama “The Light in Your Eyes”, which aired in 2019. At that time, Han Ji-min shared, “It was such an honor to me being able to play the younger version of Kim Hye-ja sunbaenim. Also, I was so thankful to have my name mentioned for the same role as hers. That time felt like a dream to me.”

She added, “I carefully watched her gestures and habits during the script reading and copied them”, revealing Kim Hye-ja as her role model.

The two recently gained lots of compliments for their impressive performances in tvN’s drama “Our Blues”.

Meanwhile, Han Ji-min will meet the viewers through TVing’s original series “Yonder” this year. “Yonder”, which is director Lee Joon-ik’s first OTT work, tells the story that begins when a man who receives a message from his dead wife is invited to ‘yonder’, an unknown space where he can meet her for one last time.
