TWICE entered the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time; BTS’s ranking unexpectedly dropped

Billboard Hot 100 this week shows TWICE’s first appearance on the chart. Meanwhile BTS’ song, unfortunately, dropped out of the top 10.

On the evening of October 11 (local time), Billboard officially announced the list of songs entering the Billboard Hot 100 this week.  Accordingly, TWICE’s “The Feels” has just entered the chart at No. 83. This is also the first time that the group has had a song appearing on this prestigious US chart.

Up to now, TWICE is the 4th Kpop idol group to enter the Hot 100. Previously, Wonder Girls became the first group to be named at number 76 with the English version of Nobody in 2009;  BTS has the most appearances with about 20 songs from 2017;  BLACKPINK also entered the chart with 7 songs since 2018.

The Feels also just debuted at No. 5 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales this week and made TWICE the 2nd K-pop girl group in history to enter the top 5 of this chart.  Previously, BLACKPINK did this with 2 songs, “How You Like That” and “Ice Cream.

Also on Global Excel.  U.S.  (Billboard’s global chart), The Feels landed at No. 10 and became TWICE’s highest-charting song on this chart.  In the past, the group has twice entered the top 100 of this chart with Alcohol-Free (#22) in June 2021 and I CAN’T STOP ME (#16) in October 2020.

On the same day, the song “My Universe,” a collaboration between BTS and Coldplay, reached number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100, down 11 places from the previous week’s number one position. This song made it to number one on Digital Song Sales and number three on Global Excel. U.S.
