Unlike the rankings of their juniors of the 4th generation where many groups take turns to rank 1st place in different markets, the 3rd generation’s champion when it comes to popularity for many years has always been a one-on-one battle between the two top Kpop boy groups – BTS and EXO. In particular, BTS still dominates when topping the charts in 17/21 countries, stretching from Asia, Europe to America, once again proving their power as a global group.
However, there are 4 countries where BTS can’t win against EXO, and 3 of them are Southeast Asian countries. In all 4 countries where EXO ranks 1st (China, Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia), BTS is in 2nd place.
