Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise arrived in Korea to promote the movie “Top Gun: Maverick”
On June 17th, movie star Tom Cruise came to Korea using his private jet, arriving at Gimpo International Airport at 4:32 p.m (KST). This visit reportedly happened during filming for his upcoming movie “Mission Possible 8”, and is part of the actor’s promotion for the movie “Top Gun: Maverick.
At the airport, Tom Cruise showed ample kindness through his willingness to take pictures with waiting fans. He even provided fan service, and lingered around for 7-8 minutes to greet his fandom.
Welcoming Tom Cruise at Gimpo International Airport in the afternoon of June 17th was hundreds of fans and reporters, who crowded around the airport’s exit. The moment Tom Cruise came out, cheers erupted throughout the ground, and instead of going straight to his car, the actor approached fans to take pictures. He also made a finger heart pose and bowed slightly as greetings, as well as took off his sunglasses while conversing and smiling with people.
In addition, when bodyguards arrived and blocked the fans, Tom Cruise asked them not to and let fans freely take photos. He also lingered for a long time to give fans more time to interact with him.

Tom Cruise’s movie “Top Gun: Maverick” is scheduled for release in Korea on June 22nd. Here, the actor will carry out two official schedules: a red carpet event at Lotte World Tower on june 19th, and a press conference at Lotte Hotel World Grand Ballroom on June 20th. Other than Tom Cruise, Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of “Top Gun: Maverick”, alongside cast members like Miles Teller, Jay Ellis, Glenn Powell, and Greg Tarzan Davis will also attend the official event.
“Top Gun: Maverick” is a sequel to the 1986 movie “Top Gun”, which follows pilot Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, who has to confront the ghosts of his past and his deepest fears during a mission. The movie will hit Korean cinemas starting June 22nd, 2022.
