This is why BIGBANG and BLACKPINK are said to have great influence on YG

The two groups can raise YG’s market capitalization every time they make a comeback.

BIGBANG and BLACKPINK are not only top KPOP groups but also the “golden gooses” of YG Entertainment. The reason is that every time these two idol groups come back, YG‘s market capitalization increases dramatically, which makes fans proud.

YG Entertainment is of great interest to the public as one of the top KPOP entertainment companies, competing with HYBE, SM, and JYP. People who have been following KPOP for a long time will surely know that BIGBANG used to be the main breadwinner of YG. Thanks to the activities of the boygroup, the company has earned a lot of profits for a long time.

However, those revenues were greatly affected when the group temporarily went on hiatus due to the members’ military service and Seungri‘s scandal. The most recent song that the group released is “Flower Road” in 2018.

Since then, the group has been “quiet” for 4 years. This has caused YG‘s market capitalization to drop significantly and fell behind the rest of the Big 4 companies. It is undeniable that YG still has many other artists who can make a profit for the company. However, the stock price of YG dropped significantly during BIGBANG‘s absence and scandals.

However, recently, the boy group surprised people with the announcement that they will make a comeback this spring. This not only makes fans happy but also helps YG‘s stock price increase sharply. Accordingly, the market capitalization of the company has now reached 1 trillion won. It is known that this is the highest amount that YG has reached in the past few months.

This is not the first time BIGBANG has raised YG‘s stock, the group has raised this price many times before.  In March 2020, the group caused a stir on social networks when re-signing a contract with your company. As a result, YG‘s stock price increased by 2.57%.

This price level continued to increase thanks to the news that BIGBANG was about to return.  Specifically, fans were happy because of rumors that the idol group would perform at the Coachella 2020 festival in the US.  Although this did not happen, the share price still increased by 3.27%.

Although the group did not perform at Coachella, it helped YG get a lot of attention.

BIGBANG isn’t the only artist who has helped YG‘s stock rise, BLACKPINK is even more important. YG relied on BLACKPINK during times of hardship, such as when the group made a comeback with “Kill This Love“. Many people were shocked when YG‘s stock price skyrocketed after the group released posters of its members and announced the launch of a new product. As a result, the price rose by 5.12 percent. With this information, fans believe that BLACKPINK saved YG.

When the girl group returned with “How You Like That,” YG‘s market value soared to new heights. The stock price increased fast within 10 days after the song’s release, and the market capitalization increased as well, hitting 713.6 billion won. This is also the company’s greatest number since the scandal involving Seungri in 2019. Thus, many people have recognized BLACKPINK as the company’s “golden goose”.
