“This is what it means… Thank you so much, ARMYs”, BTS Suga emotional over getting ‘Hot 100’’s 1st place again

BTS Suga expressed his surprise at the back to back 1^st place of ‘Butter’ and ‘Permission to Dance’ and thanked their fanbase ARMY.

On the 27^th, BTS Suga left a message on Weverse, saying, “I just woke up..This is what it means…. Thank you so much ARMYs ㅠㅠㅠㅠ Thank you thank you ㅠㅠㅠㅠ”.

According to Billboard on the July 26, the digital single ‘Butter’, which previously ranked first on the ‘Billboard Hot 100’ for 7 weeks in a row, has set a record for a total of 8 weeks on the chart when it rose to number 1 again on the 31^st.

‘Butter’, alongside Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Drivers License’, is tied for the longest record of a number one song on the ‘Hot 100’ in 2021 with 8 weeks. ‘Butter’ will set the record this year if it climbs to number one on the ‘Hot 100’ for one more week.

‘Permission to Dance’, pushing out ‘Butter’ last week to took first place (Hotshot debut) in its first week of entry, was ranked 7^th  in ‘Hot 100’ on the 31^st. According to Billboard, BTS is the only artist in Billboard history to achieve the number one spot on the ‘Hot 100’, uninterruptedly return to the top of the chart after their other song charted 1^st without giving up the number one spot to another artist.
