This actress said she would never work out but will play a boxer in her comeback film

Actress Shin Hye Sun will return to the big screen through “Brave Citizen”.

Based on a webtoon of the same name, the movie “Brave Citizen” tells about So Si Min, a former boxer who scolded bullies at school, struggling as a part-time teacher due to her father’s incident with an aim to get a stable office job.

In the original work, So Si Min is a righteous person who hides her true nature to become a full-time teacher. However, after witnessing the misdeeds of Han Soo Gang, a gangster and former Muay Thai player, she decides to take revenge by wearing a cat mask.

Shin Hye Sun, who has shown impressive acting skills in numerous works, including “Mr. Queen”, “Innocence”, etc., takes on the role of So Si Min, while Han Soo Gang will be played by actor Lee Joon Young.

What’s surprising is that Shin Hye Sun will perform action acting. The actress, who is 173cm tall and boasts a slim body, once revealed in a past interview that she maintained her weight at 49kg by eating only one meal a day despite not doing exercises. Regarding the reason she didn’t exercise, Shin Hye Sun said she was worried that it would make her look big and it would not suit her tall height.

Recently, CEO Kwon Mi Kyung of Studio N, the production company of “Brave Citizen”, poured out compliments for Shin Hye Sun, saying “She worked very hard in practicing boxing”.

Calling Shin Hye Sun “an actress who is faithful to her role”, the CEO shared, “Shin Hye Sun uses her body well. She tried to perform almost all the action scenes on her own without using a double”.

Making her debut through the 2012 drama “School 2013”, Shin Hye Sun has grown step by step from playing minor roles to supporting characters and then recently led a whole drama. Thanks to her great efforts, Shin Hye Sun has now become a trustworthy actress.

As a result, many viewers are looking forward to seeing her improved acting performances in “Brave Citizen”. The movie will premiere simultaneously in theaters and on Wavves.
