In a video posted on the YouTube channel AYO, two famous K-pop stylists have revealed some secrets in their idols’ outfits of the groups that they’ve worked with, including BTS, TXT, and BLACKPINK.
In particular, famous stylist Kim Tae Young (known as Balko) revealed that she was the creator of BLACKPINK’s impressive hanboks in the MV ‘How You Like That‘ released in 2020.
Since the MV was released, netizens all over the world have paid so much attention and praise for the freshness and eye-catching of these innovative hanboks.
In the video, Balko shared that she was very proud when her design was worn by BLACKPINK in the MV and received many compliments. Besides, Balko also revealed that Jennie was the member who gave the idea of this hanbok design. Balko said, “Jennie came up with a lot of ideas when designing this hanbok. She showed me a photo, and it was a photo of a model wearing Western clothes with a Korean twist, and I was fascinated by the design.”
Balko also revealed that the process of brainstorming and designing this “legendary” outfit was really hard work. She was also very persistent to make sure that all the designs were suitable for each member and the concept of the MV.
As expected, Balko was extremely proud of the results she has worked so hard to make, as well as proud of the influence of the innovative hanbok that BLACKPINK has spread. “I did it, I feel like I did a good job,” she said.
