Actor Jung Ho-yeon, who became a world-class star after the success of Netflix’s original series “Squid Game”, picked senior actor Oh Young-soo as her role model.
Jung Ho-yeon appeared on tvN’s “Yoo Quiz On The Block” broadcast aired on October 20th and had a talk with Yoo Jae-seok and Cho Se-ho. During the broadcast, Jung Ho-yeon told a behind-the-scenes story of the tug-of-war scene and mentioned actor Oh Young-soo, who played the 001 player – Oh Il-nam in “Squid Game”.
The scene when the team goes up to the ‘tug-of-war’ playground begins with actor Oh Young-soo‘s narration. In fact, he memorized all the lines before filming that scene. Jung Ho-yeon explained, “It was a pretty long line, but he memorized it at once and didn’t make any mistake”. The line she mentioned actually contains about 400 characters.
In fact, the narration is shown on the screen during that scene, so it doesn’t matter if he read all the script or not. However, he successfully finished the long line without a single mistake. Jung Ho-yeon continued to share, “All the actors appearing in that scene became audiences.”. She added, “As soon as the director gave an OK sign, together with Lee Jung-jae sunbae, I applauded him. We gave him compliments, such as “You’re really amazing. So admirable'”.
Jung Ho-yeon also revealed why she decided to challenge herself in acting while working as a model. She confessed, “It’s true that there are many other jobs that I could do as a model, but I have been through lots of ups and downs in my career already.” She said when she felt her position as a model was gradually decreasing, she began to think about trying acting. The actress also stated, “I took acting lessons for a month every time I had long breaks. I had been collecting all experience, and I think it’s time to perform what I had learned.”
