The production team of “Hometown Cha Cha Cha” blocked tourists from entering the village, causing controversies over the overuse of power

While receiving great attention from the viewers, “Hometown Cha Cha Cha” has recently been criticized for an incident that happened at the filming site.

Recently, the popular tvN’s drama “Hometown Cha Cha Cha” has been embroiled in a controversy over power overuse under the pretext of filming. Accordingly, witnesses reported that tourists were prevented from entering the village even when the filming of the drama was not being carried out.

Sports Seoul issued an exclusive report on October 7th saying the production team and the securities of “Hometown Cha Cha Cha” caused an unpleasant quarrel by blocking the public from entering Guryongpo-eup, Pohang. According to the report, the incident broke out at the village entrance, Seokjeong 1-ri, Guryongpo-eup, on October 5th.

A lot of tourists, including informant A, came to this place to visit the seaside village. However, the security company blocked the access from the entrance, and loud noises were raised from both sides. The security yelled at A’s group, “Will you all be responsible if any broadcasting equipment is stolen?”

The problem is that this is not private land. The filming was not in progress, but access was completely restricted because filming equipment was still here. In the end, A claimed that citizens who visited this area for traveling were kicked out and couldn’t enter the village.

In this regard, the production team of “Hometown Cha Cha Cha” said in an interview with the media, “To what we know, the filming was being carried out from the village’s entrance. The filming is underway with the consent of the villagers. There was no unnecessary action done to the visitors.”

After that, the production team uploaded a post on their official SNS and asked the viewers to refrain from visiting houses, “The houses of Hyejin, Doosik, Ms.Gamri, and Chohee in the drama have been rented and used for filming. Apart from the filming period, the owners of the houses still live there.”

Meanwhile, “Hometown Cha Cha Cha” is a drama that tells a funny yet romantic love story between the realistic dentist Yoon Hye Jin (Shin Min Ah) and the all-rounder Chief Hong (Kim Seon Ho) in Gongjin, a seaside village. This drama is currently a hit as it has achieved double-digit ratings.
