“The Law Cafe”, starring Lee Seung-gi and Lee Se-young, starts off well with a viewer rating of 7.4% in the first episode

KBS 2TV’s new drama “The Law Cafe” fluttered the hearts of the viewers from the first episode and topped the chart of Mon-Tue dramas at once.

The first episode of KBS 2TV’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “The Law Cafe” (written by Lee Eui-jung/ directed by Lee Eun-jin/ produced by Jidam Media, High Ground), which aired on September 5th, recorded 7.4% in Seoul area, according to Nielsen Korea, and 2.0% in the 2049 viewer rating chart, marking a good start by ranking No.1 among dramas of the same broadcasting time on all channels.

The appearance of Kim Jeong-ho (Lee Seung-gi), a former prosecutor who only wears sportswear, and Kim Yu-ri (Lee Se-young), a lawyer with a four-dimensional personality and extraordinary fashion sense, in the first broadcast of “The Law Cafe” drew keen attention.

Love According To The Law

In particular, what surprised many viewers is that Kim Jeong-ho and Kim Yu-ri were revealed to have been friends for 17 years since high school and used to date each other during their college days. Kim Jeong-ho has been trying to avoid Kim Yu-ri since he suddenly broke up with her.

Kim Yu-ri left the large law firm Hwang & Gu and planned to set up a Law Cafe for legal counseling. She was very surprised when finding out that the building she rented is owned by Kim Jeong-ho. Kim Jeong-ho, who felt the same way, tried to terminate the contract with her. Kim Yu-ri, who doesn’t know about giving up, came to Kim Jeong-ho’s house at night while being drunk and asked why he tried to kick her out, but Kim Jeong-ho refused to answer. The next day, she once again persuaded Kim Jeong-ho by revealing her sincerity toward the Law Cafe. She suggested, “Let’s make some rules so that only you and I can work together. Aren’t we legal professionals?”

The Law Cafe

Kim Jeong-ho made Kim Yu-ri angry by forcing her to add all kinds of unacceptable conditions. However, he then explained, “Why do I have to do this? That’s because I like her”, confessing his hidden feelings. The scene where Kim Jeong-ho tried to avoid Kim Yu-ri at his best friend’s wedding was shown at the end of episode 1, raising the viewers’ expectations for the story’s development.

Screenwriter Lee Eui-jung, who has solid writing skills, presented a fun narrative by unraveling the stories from the original web novel by Noh Seung-ah with colorful perspectives and abundant episodes. Director Lee Eun-jin also increased the viewers’ immersion by leading the play’s atmosphere with her detailed directing. In addition, the chemistry of the “melodrama masters” Lee Seung-gi and Lee Se-young as Kim Jeong-ho and Kim Yu-ri brought pleasant laughs to the viewers throughout the broadcast.

In response to the first episode of “The Law Cafe”, the viewers commented, “The drama has everything. It’s fun, heart-fluttering and cool!”, “Lee Seung-gi and Lee Se-young! The two look so good together”, “I already chose ‘The Law Cafe’ for Monday and Tuesday”, “All the actors did so well”, “I can’t wait to see the next episode”, etc.

Meanwhile, the second episode of “The Law Cafe” will air at 9:50 p.m on September 6th.
