“THE KELLY CLARKSON SHOW” apologizes for mistakenly using a photo of a K-pop rookie instead of BTS

Earlier, The Kelly Clarkson Show, hosted by American singer Kelly Clarkson, was heavily criticized for using the wrong image for BTS.

Recently, Chris Martin (Cold Play) appeared on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” season 3 as a guest to share about music products. During the conversation, the male singer mentioned the song “My Universe”, a collab with BTS.

At that time, host Kelly Clarkson asked Chris Martin: “It’s called ‘My Universe,’ and you did it with BTS, right? I love that. I love that you’re working with BTS.”

While talking about BTS, the program’s screen displayed an illustration of the 7-member group from Korea. However, fans quickly realized that the photo was not BTS but BLITZERS – a rookie group that debuted on May 12 of this year.

Immediately, ARMYs criticized the show for not carefully checking the image before broadcasting. Many people realize that this is not the first time that the international media has made the mistake of using the image of BLITZERS instead of BTS. Some fans have pointed to an article by The National as a possible reason why researchers keep mixing up BLITZERS with BTS. The article, titled “The next BTS?” features the same photo used on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

After the incident broke out, the program “The Kelly Clarkson Show” officially apologized on Twitter as follows: Thank you #BTSArmy. We’re sorry, and we’ve provided our stations with the correct image.
