The drama that ruined Son Ye Jin’s beauty by giving her character an old and messy hair look

Son Ye Jin’s appearance in a hit drama used to be a shock to the viewers.

The nation’s first love Son Ye Jin is one of the most beautiful Korean actresses who confidently shows off her bare face on screen because even without makeup, she still looks pure and gorgeous. After seeing Son Ye Jin’s natural bare-faced look in the hit drama Crash Landing On You, viewers can be certain that the female actress is someone who never knows what it’s like to be ugly.

However, it turns out that Son Ye Jin used to play a character whose image is totally different from her usual flawless visual. 11 years ago, Son Ye Jin starred in the drama Personal Taste, acting alongside the famous and handsome actor Lee Min Ho. In the drama, she is described as “a successful but clumsy and slobby woman who does not know how to dress”.  And indeed, in the early stages of the drama, Son Ye Jin’s character often appears looking old, lacking energy with messy hair and no makeup. Her wrinkles are easily seen. The actress in 2010 looks even older than she is now.

When looking back at her looks in this drama, the viewers realize how much Son Ye Jin had to sacrifice for this role.  Of course, Son Ye Jin doesn’t have to look unattractive throughout the entire drama. There are still many moments when she is extremely pretty and young when standing next to Lee Min Ho.

Regarding the drama’s storyline, Personal Taste revolves around Park Kae In (Son Ye Jin) – a kind, impulsive, clumsy and a total slob in taking care of herself.  As an independent interior designer, she struggles to create successful products and constantly tries to impress her father. Because she is too focused on work and turns herself into a messy woman, Kae In was dumped by her boyfriend, who even got married to the friend she treasured the most. Her deadlocked life starts to change after she meets Jeon Jin Ho (Lee Min Ho) – a talented architect.
