The cast and production team of the live action “The Little Mermaid” share their thoughts on the making of the movie 

“The Little Mermaid” cast and crew expressed enthusiasm about the making of movie, building anticipation. 

On April 13th, the “The Little Mermaid” official Twitter account released a video with the caption: “The story. The music. The heart. The cast and filmmakers of Disney’s #TheLittleMermaid talk about bringing this incredible tale to life.” The video goes behind the scenes and reveals the making of the movie.

Halle Bailey appeared in a pink suit and said: “When I first saw the original ‘Little Mermaid,’ my whole world changed.” She added, “Like so many of us little girls, we all just wanted to be mermaids.” Moreover, the video captured attention by showcasing Halle Bailey’s vocal ability. 

Lin-Manuel Miranda, a songwriter who participated in the movie OST, praised Bailey for her remarkable voice.

Director Rob Marshall gave his thoughts on the impact of the original “Little Mermaid”, saying, “I think ‘The Little Mermaid’ is an iconic, powerful story. It was important to expand and make it a fuller experience.” Moreover, he continued praising Bailey’s singing voice. The director stated, “When she sang for us, it was so emotional. She set the bar and no one ever surpassed it.”

Melissa McCarthy as Ursula and Awkwafina as Scuttle appeared and praised the movie, and the world-building effort that went into it, raising fans’ expectations.

The movie “The Little Mermaid” is set to be released in North American theaters on May 26th (local time).
