The album sales of Kpop big 4 companies in the first half of 2021: NCT DREAM surpasses BTS
Let’s take a look at album sales of the big 4 entertainment companies in the first half of 2021.
Recently, Gaon announced the total number of album sales of each Kpop company in the first half of 2021. Immediately, the results of BIG3 and HYBE caught the attention of netizens. So among the groups BIG4, which group has the most album sales in the first half of this year?
According to the Gaon chart, SM Entertainment sold the most album units among the big four labels from January to June 2021. SM took first place with 9,238,118 copies sold, followed by HYBE with 5,862,156 copies sold. YG sold 1,384,044 copies, while JYP sold 1,546,355.
Meanwhile, under the HYBE label, Big Hit Entertainment sold 3,383,310 copies, Pledis Entertainment sold 1,745,945 copies, BELIFT Lab sold 730,663 copies and Source Music sold a total of 2,238 copies.
NCT Dream was SM Entertainment’s best-selling artist, with 3,390,828 copies sold. With cumulative sales of 2,403,862 units, BTS was HYBE’s best-selling artist. TWICE (with 630,942 copies) was JYP Entertainment’s top-selling artist, while BLACKPINK was YG Entertainment’s one (with 877,659 copies).
Based on the above results, NCT Dream has surpassed BTS and representatives from other companies to become the group with the best sales in the first half of this year.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK also surpassed TWICE while album sales are the strength of JYP girl group.
