As the first girl group to debut under BTS’s agency HYBE Labels, LE SSERAFIM consists of 6 outstanding members with skills and experiences in various realms.
Kim Chaewon, now promoting as Chaewon, used to achieve a lot of accomplishments as the lead vocalist and lead dancer of her former group IZ*ONE. After the group disbanded, she continued to pursue a career in music, eventually joining HYBE and debuting as the leader of LE SSERAFIM. Kim Chaewon was actually born to a family of artists, with her mother being the prestigious theater actress Lee Ran Hee.
The Korean-American idol Huh Yun Jin first appeared on the Mnet survival show “Produce 48” as a trainee under Pledis Entertainment. Alongside her powerful vocals and outstanding appearance, Yun Jin also has experience in opera singing and can play musical instruments like the ukulele and guitar.
Sakura is probably the most experienced member of the group, having performed on stage since she was a very young girl. In 2011, Sakura debuted as a member of the Japanese idol group HKT48 and later AKB48, before joining “Produce 48” in 2018 and promoting as IZ*ONE after ranking 2nd in the show. Alongside her idol activities, Sakura is also a well-recognized actress in Japan, and owns a cosmetics brand under her name.
The other Japanese member of LE SSERAFIM, Kazuha, is a professional ballet dancer, who has won numerous awards in prestigious ballet competitions. She used to attend the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Russia, the UK’s Royal Ballet School, and was attending the Dutch National Ballet Academy before leaving for HYBE. Rumors have it that the CEO of Source Music (LE SSERAFIM’s agency and subsidiary of HYBE), even flew out to the Netherlands to scout Kazuha for the group.
Kim Garam is perhaps the most mysterious element in LE SSERAFIM with very little information revealed. According to Korean media, the female idol is a theater and film student at Seoul Performing Arts High School. She also made an appearance in the “Drunk-Dazed” MV of ENHYPHEN – another group under HYBE.
Finally, Hong Eun Chae, the youngest member of the group, used to train under Source Music in 2021, and was a well-known student of the prestigious dance academy Def Dance Skool. The idol previously auditioned for JYP and Pledis Entertainment, and are close friends with Kep1er’s Bahiyyih and Billie’s Haruna. Hopefully, we will see cool collaboration coming out of these friendships.
