Talking about his girlfriend, B said, “She lost consciousness, unable to breathe. Then, after CPR, she breathed again but constantly fainted. I heard she went into cardiac arrest. Her friend had a phone, so she arrived at the hospital with her. The friend felt extremely guilty for being the only survivor.”

Text messages that B sent to his girlfriend via Kakaotalk were also revealed, and netizens were moved to tears over the hopelessness through each and every text sent.

Below are the content of B’s messages:

  • Where are you?
  • You told me you’d be home by 10:30
  • It has been an hour, but I can’t contact you
  • Did you lose your phone?

  • You will be able to get through this
  • You are my beloved

  • I really cherish you”

Even until the last second, B crossed his fingers in hope that A will be able to recover. He waited at the hospital from 5 AM to 9:30 AM on October 30th, at the same time continued to text.

  • There are so many people at the hospital, so you must be feeling greatly inconvenienced right now
  • Let’s recover and we can go out to eat good food
  • I can’t do anything when you are in the ER
  • I will find you soon, then you can tell me to do anything
  • So please, recover

B’s final message to A was “I miss you, I love you so much”, but A, unfortunately, passed away and was never able to read any of B’s words.

Later on, B shared about his girlfriend in tears, “She always sends me long messages before we go to sleep and tells me things like, ‘You have worked hard today’. She never tells others about her difficulties, and always supports me and cheers for me. The friend who came to Itaewon with her told me she was going to propose to me after a year of dating.”
