Kim So Yeon will make a strong transformation through “Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938”.
On April 21st, tvN’s Saturday-Sunday drama “Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938” (directed by Kang Shin Hyo, written by Han Woo Ri, produced by Studio Dragon and How Pictures) unveiled the first still cuts of Kim So Yeon, who transformed into former western mountain god “Ryu Hong Joo”.
“Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938” tells the story where Lee Yeon (Lee Dong Wook) was dragged back in time to the year 1938 unexpectedly due to certain events that happened after “Tale of the Nine Tailed” where he met Lee Rang (Kim Bum) and Ryu Hong Joo (Kim So Yeon) of that era. Aside from the reunion of writer Han Woo Ri and director Kang Shin Hyo, who opened the new world of “K-Fantasy”, the meeting of Lee Dong Wook, Kim So Yeon, Kim Bum, Ryu Kyung Soo, Hwang Hee and Kim Yong Ji is also highly anticipated.
Kim So Yeon plays Ryu Hong Joo, former western mountain god who is currently the owner of Myoyeongak, a top-notch restaurant in Gyeongseong. She gets entangled with Lee Yeon, who confessed a long time ago but was rejected.
Ryu Hong Joo said she coveted Lee Yeon from the moment they first met. Viewers wonder what dizzying synergy she will have with Lee Yeon, with whom she reunited in the chaotic year of 1938.
Kim So Yeon, who revealed that she is a fan of “Tale of the Nine Tailed”, expressed her affection for the work, “I was very happy to join ‘Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938’, and I’m still very excited now. I personally like fantasy, so when I received the offer to appear in the work, I happily accepted it without thinking twice. I really wanted to try it.”
Regarding the character Ryu Hong Joo, who showed an overwhelming presence through previous teaser videos and posters, Kim So Yeon explained, “This is a very colorful character. She’s sly and bold yet lovable.”
She then pointed out Ryu Hong Joo’s charm point, “She’s pretty, good at fighting, and has great strength.” She raised expectations by adding, “I attended action school diligently for swordsmanship scenes. I hope they came out well.”
Meanwhile, “Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938” is scheduled to premiere on May 6th following “Pandora: Beneath the Paradise”.
