Surprise announcement from BTS’ agency… Recruit former member of Japan’s top idol group

BTS’ agency HYBE (Big Hit Music) recruited Japanese idol-turned-actress Yurina Hirate (21).

HYBE announced on Dec 21st that they established a new label called “NAECO” as a subsidiary of HYBE Japan and recruited Yurina Hirate as NAECO’s first artist.

Yurina Hirate expressed her feelings, “I decided to join HYBE’s new label NAECO. I will discuss with various creators and work hard so that I can present better works.

Yurina Hirate was born in 2001 and is now 21 years old. In 2016, she debuted as a member of popular girl group Keyakizaka46 (currently Sakurazaka46)’s first generation.

Usually, the center position of a Japanese girl group changes every time they release an album, but Yurina Hirate occupied the center position in all activities from debut single until leaving the group in 2020, showing her extraordinary presence.

After leaving the team, Yurina Hirate began her career as an actress by appearing in several movies and dramas. She appeared in the 2019 film “Hibiki” and won “Newcomer of the Year” at the 42nd Japan Academy Film Prize. Recently, she also appeared in “Roppongi Class”, the Japanese version of the drama “Itaewon Class”.

Yurina Hirate will enter HYBE’s fan community Weverse in the first half of next year to communicate with fans.

On the other hand, NAECO is a name made by arranging the letters of “OCEAN” backwards. HYBE plans to widely support artists’ entry into the global market through NAECO.
