Surpassing Ma Dong Seok and Kim Hye Soo, this actress topped May Movie Actor Brand Reputation rankings

The rankings for this month’s Movie Actor Brand Reputation have been unveiled.

The Korean Business Research Institute announced the rankings from 1st to 50th place in “May Movie Actor Brand Reputation” on May 28th. Accordingly, late actress Kang Soo Yeon surpassed Ma Dong Seok (2nd place), Kim Hye Soo (3rd place), Son Seok Koo (4th place), and Lee Byung Hun (5th place) to take first place.

The rankings are determined based on the measurement of brand participation, media, communication, and community index of consumers by extracting 224,669,647 brand big data of 50 movie stars loved by Korean consumers from April 28th to May 28th.

Kang Soo Yeon, who took 1st place, recorded a brand reputation index of 13,847,666, followed by Ma Dong Seok with a brand reputation index of 10,523,426 and Kim Hye Soo with a brand reputation index of 10,47,8151. Kang Soo Yeon recently passed away on May 7th at the age of 55.

The late actress made a big mark in the history of Korean film by being the first Korean actor to win Best Actress at the Venice International Film Festival for her performance in the film “The Surrogate Woman” by director Im Kwon Taek. In 2001, she led SBS drama “Ladies of the Palace” and received SBS’s Acting Daesang (Grand Prize).

Top-ranked phrases in the analysis of links to Kang Soo Yeon’s brand include “pass away”,“condolences”, “memorial”. In the keyword analysis, “national actor”, “world star”, “Im Kwon Taek” ranked high.
