Recently, South Korean media sources announced that the YG girl group have surpassed One Direction to become the most followed music group on Instagram.
BLACK PINK have surpassed One Direction to become the world most followed group on Instagram. BLACK PINK’s official Instagram currently has 17,1 million follower while One Direction’s has 17 million followers.
Even though their idols are surpassed, Directioners (One Direction’s fandom) congratulated the 4 girls for achieving this number.
Not just that, in early 2019, member Lisa officially became the most followed celebrity on Instagram in South Korea.
Specifically, this Thai member of BLACK PINK has 17,5 million followers on this social media platform. Chanyeol with 17,4 million followers has been surpassed by her.
BLACK PINK burnt the stage at the American music festival Coachella by performing live 13 songs.
After their exceptionally successful performance at Coachella 2019, on April 15th, YG Entertainment announced about an upcoming BLACK PINK tour in Japan this winter. This will be the second K-Pop girl group after TWICE to ever do this.
On the same day, their single “KILL THIS LOVE” got into the prestigious chart Hot 100 of Billboard with the position 41st. This is the highest achievement ever for a K-Pop girl group on this chart. They have broken their own record of “DDU-DU DDU-DU” which appeared at #55 spot in June 2018.
“KILL THIS LOVE” broken the record after its debut at #24 on the Billboard 200 chart and became the highest-ranked single ever of a K-Pop girl group.
BLACK PINK also tops many charts inside and outside of South Korea.
