Supreme council member Lee Joon-seok: “A concert with BTS in North Korea? BTS is being used in politics”

Lee Joon-seok, supreme council member of the Bareun Mirae Party, criticized Democratic Party of Korea’s congressman Ahn Min-seok for his suggestion of a concert with BTS in Pyongyang, North Korea in September.

Lee posted on his Facebook page saying, “This is how it is to use a celebrity in politics,” along with an article that Ahn plans to hold a concert starring BTS in Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea.

On the same day, Ahn Min-seok, chairman of the National Assembly’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee and chairman of the Millennium Democratic Party’s Special Committee on Culture, Sports and Cooperation, said through a media outlet, “We are going to propel a performance of BTS to celebrate the first anniversary of the Pyongyang Joint Declaration in September.”

Meanwhile, BTS will continue its “Love Yourself” dome tour in Japan for two days on the 12th and 13th.
