In an interview with the YouTube channel “Asian Boss” released on Oct 24th, Christian Lagahit confessed that he used to be hit by a cabbage thrown by a woman in her 50s in a Korean village bus.

Lagahit recalled, “When I was inside a village bus, there was a woman who was just staring at me. The bus was narrow, so I thought that she was looking at the students next to me. A few minutes passed by, this woman threw a cabbage on my face and the eyeglasses I was wearing fell off. They were already broken.”

He continued, “I asked her ‘Why did you throw this vegetable on me?’, and I guess she didn’t like me being on the bus. Because I’m not Korean.”

In addition, he said, “The hardest part was that no one was paying attention to me,” adding, “There were a lot of people inside the bus, it was filled but no one was there to at least help me.” He also said that when the woman got off the bus, she said, “All foreigners here are bad people.”

Lagahit remembered that he couldn’t understand Korean well at the moment. The lady wanted him to get off the bus, but it was the last bus and he didn’t have enough money to take a taxi. He couldn’t do anything about the situation, and no one helped him, and he cried.

When asked about other cases of racism, he told the interviewer about his friends being cursed at with bad words and people avoiding sitting next to him on the bus. There was even a woman who asked him to move to another seat.

Meanwhile, Christian Lagahit appeared in the drama “Squid Game” as number 276. While looking for a team member to play the game, he met Pakistani worker Abdul Ali (Anupam Tripathii) and made an Islamic greeting.

In addition to “Squid Game,” he has appeared in various Korean works such as the movies “The Negotiation” and “Space Sweepers.”
