“Squid Game” director Hwang Dong-hyuk: “We’re discussing Season 2 and 3 with Netflix”

Following Season 2, “Squid Game” Season 3 will also be produced.

In an interview with KBS on Dec 28th, Netflix’s original series “Squid Game” director Hwang Dong-hyuk shared, “We and Netflix are still discussing Season 2 and 3 together.”

I can only tell you one thing as I know many people are waiting. That everyone is positively working hard to prepare for the next season.”

Regarding the factors that helped “Squid Game” become popular, director Hwang said, “The fresh and unique subject of Korean children’s games and the universal theme that people all over the world can relate to right now, dealing with extreme competition in a certain capitalist society, seem to have been sympathized and loved in many countries.”

Meanwhile, it is predicted that the story after the main character Sung Ki-hoon (Lee Jung-jae) will be unraveled, and the story of the people Ki-hoon meets and the people he chases will be Season 2’s main plot.
