Netflix’s original series ‘Squid Game’ received a hot response not only in Korea but also in the United States.
As of September 21st (local time), ‘Squid Game‘ topped the US Netflix overall ranking. This is the first movie in Korea that surpassed the ranking of the domestic Netflix original series ‘Sweet Home’, which recorded the highest score in the United States.
According to Flixpatrol, a streaming video content ranking site, ‘Squid Game’ topped Netflix’s rankings in many countries, including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, the Philippines, Peru, Mexico, and Bolivia, in addition to the United States.
On the movie critic site Rotten Tomatoes, ‘Squid Game’ is getting positive responses from viewers.
Netizens praised the development of the squid game, such as “The genre was very interesting”, “I couldn’t stop watching it. All the characters were good and the story was interesting”, “I fell in love with the first episode”, etc. Some netizens expressed their anticipation for Season 2 of the Squid Game, saying, “When is season 2 coming out?”
‘Squid Game’ depicts the story of those who participated in a mysterious survival game with a prize of 45.6 billion won, risking their lives to become the final winner. Right after its release, ‘Squid Game’ took the top spot in Korean Netflix content from the first day and continues to gain popularity even today.
