*Spoilers: Ji Chang-wook’s Adult Scene Lasts 203 sec, Jung Yu-mi’s Chest Exposed For 114 sec Are Everything People Can Remember Of “Queen Woo”

Tving’s first historical drama “Queen Woo” has been unveiled, but it is being evaluated below expectations. It attracted attention for its stellar casting lineup, including Jeon Jong-seo, Ji Chang-wook, Kim Moo-yeol, Lee Soo-hyuk, and Jung Yu-mi, but after its first release on August 29th, only the bed scenes remain.

“Queen Woo” is an action historical drama in which the sudden death of the king causes the queen to struggle to establish a new king within 24 hours after being targeted by princes seeking the throne and five tribes trying to seize power.

Jeon Jong-seo is one of the main characters. She played the role of Queen Woo-hee of Goguryeo. When the king died, Woo-hee went out of the palace and chose the next king herself to take the throne, protecting the position of queen herself. She is a strong and self-reliant woman.

In fact, if the drama had only focused on this part, an all-time female-centered epic historical drama would have been born. Unveiled “Queen Woo,” however, focused more on other things than Woo-hee’s urgent 24 hours. With episodes 1 to 4 being released, nude and bed scenes appear in every episode except for episodes 3.

Actress Jung Yu-mi said of her nude scene at the drama’s press conference, “I felt pressured. But it was a scene that was essential for the story.” However, people are confused as why some of the exposed scenes were included.

At the beginning of the first episode, a shaman takes off her clothes while looking at the sky and being excited about the future. Later, the king, Go Nam-moo (played by Ji Chang-wook), returns from the war and needs to heal his wounds appears. He is treated by having sex with three maids to overcome the pain. This scene was there for a whopping 3 minutes and 23 seconds, or 203 seconds.

In the second episode, Jung Yu-mi’s chest is exposed. Woo-soon (played by Junv Yu-mi), the older sister who was jealous of her younger sister Woo-hee’s position as queen, receives a potion from her. Go Nam-moo, who took the drug, dies, and Woo-soon, who took another potion, has a sexual intercourse with a woman.

The fourth episode depicts Woo-hee choosing a prince to marry after the death of the king (the custom of marriage in which the younger brother continues to marry his sister-in-law on behalf of the older brother). She finally visits the third prince, Go Bal-ki (played by Lee Soo-hyuk). Woo-hee tries to marry another prince after seeing the violent side of Go Bal-ki, and when he learns about her, he tries to take over her. In this process, he has sex with his wife, and then stabs her to death as he heard advice that if he has a wife, he can’t take over the queen.

At the same time, the drama reminds us of “My Dearest,” MBC’s historical drama that became a hit last year. “My Dearest” is a well-made story that exquisitely mixes historical story and romance. Many people “Queen Woo” could have been so well-made without even a single bed scene, just like “My Dearest,” depicting the toughness of women and the pure love of men.

Meanwhile, fans are hoping “Queen Woo” will be able to persuade viewers with quality, not bed scenes, in the remaining six episodes.
