2021 Seoul International Drama Awards: Song Joong-ki and Suzy won Hallyu Best Actor/Actress, Kim Seon-ho mentioned as a “Korean Avengers”

Actor Song Joong-ki and actress Suzy took home the award for Best Hallyu Actor/Actress of this year Seoul International Drama Awards.

On the afternoon of Oct 21st, the Seoul International Drama Awards 2021 awards ceremony was held online without spectators at MBC’s public hall in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.

Song Joong-ki and Suzy won the Hallyu Best Actor/Actress Award today. First of all, Song Joong-ki, who appeared in the tvN drama “Vincenzo”, said in his speech, “I won the Hallyu Best Actor Award at the Seoul International Drama Awards this time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m very grateful and sorry that I couldn’t attend today due to other schedules.”

He then continued, “Thanks to the audience’s love for “Vincenzo” and the character Vincenzo Cassano that I’m able to receive this meaningful award. I’m grateful to all domestic and foreign fans. I will come back with good projects as soon as possible,” he said.

Suzy, who appeared in the tvN drama “Start-up”, said, “It’s been a year since it ended, but after receiving this award, all the good memories during the filming time just come back to me. I think I received this award because the drama was loved a lot both in Korea and abroad. It’s such an honor and I’d like to give this honor to all the staff and my colleagues,” she said.

On the other hand, “Seoul International Drama Awards 2021” also represented their Korean Avengers character. Kim Seon-ho‘s character in “Start-Up”, Han Ji-pyeong is included in the list aside nurse Ahn Eun Young (played by Jung Yu-mi) in “School Nurse Ahn Eun-young” and Hyun Soo (played by Song Kang) in “Sweet Home”.

Meanwhile, the Seoul International Drama Awards is an international drama festival that awards the winners through fair and strict screening for dramas around the world. It started in 2006 and marks its 16th anniversary this year.
