Will the era of the legendary trio “Tae-Hye-Ji” (Kim Tae Hee, Song Hye Kyo, and Jun Ji Hyun) come again after “The Glory”?
The trio of Kim Tae Hee, Song Hye Kyo, and Jun Ji Hyun (admiringly called as Tae-Hye-Ji) has reigned as “the empress of the acting industry” for 20 years with their respective charms. However, from the year of 2023, they are predicted to show a different presence to the public compared to what they have shown before.
Song Hye Kyo recently succeeded in transforming her acting through Netflix’s original “The Glory” (written by Kim Eun Sook, directed by Ahn Gil Ho). “The Glory” is the story of a woman, whose soul was broken by the violence she faced in her childhood, as she carefully prepared for her revenge against the bullies who tormented her. Part 1 was released on December 30th last year, ranking high not only in Korea but also in other countries around the world.
Song Hye Kyo played the role of Moon Dong Eun, a victim of terrible school violence who plans revenge against both the perpetrators and bystanders. She is complimented as successfully taking off her image of a “Melodrama Queen” and expanding her acting range. Her popularity will continues through “The Glory” Part 2, which will be released on March 10th.
In addition, Song Hye Kyo is already considering her next move. Song is positively considering appearing in “The Master of Confession” (working title). Unless there is a big change, she is likely to appear. It is different from “The Glory,” but it deals with two women’s united narrative surrounding a murder. Han So Hee has been selected as Song Hye Kyo’s partner and is considering appearing.
As Song Hye Kyo fired a signal for the return of “Tae-Hye-Ji,” Kim Tae Hee and Jun Ji Hyun are also preparing. First of all, Kim Tae Hee has already decided on her comeback film and is in the middle of filming. Kim Tae Hee will return to the small screen through her new drama “A House With A Yard” (directed by Jung Ji Hyun of “Twenty-five Twenty One”).
Kim Tae Hee, who has appeared in various genres since her debut, is trying to change her acting through a different genre this time. As Kim Tae Hee recently drew positive reviews on her acting skills in “Hi Bye, Mama!” (directed by Yoo Je Won, scriptwriter Kwon Hye Joo) after countless criticizes regarding her acting, she is determined to establish her full title as an actress.
Unlike Song Hye Kyo and Kim Tae Hee, Jun Ji Hyun has yet to decide on a return film. Jun Ji Hyun recently announced a new start with her current agency (Ieum Hashtag) and is carefully choosing his return work by slowly reviewing different synopsis and scripts.
Is Tae-Hye-Ji returning? Leaving behind the past, when they were only noticed for their fresh and pretty appearances, the trio is working hard to fill their filmography with high-quality titles. Attention is focused on whether they will be able to show their reputation of 20 years, making their success story a textbook for their juniors.
