“The Glory” tells the story of a woman whose experience of being bullied in highschool sends her down a path of revenge in adulthood. The drama is penned by Kim Eun-sook, whose notable works include drama hits such as “Goblin” and “Mr. Sunshine”, and directed by Ahn Gil-ho, who showed outstanding directing skills in “Secret Forest”. The series manages to form a stellar cast of big and promising names in the industry, including Song Hye-kyo, Lee Do-hyun, Lim Ji-yeon, Yeom Hye-ran, Park Sung-hoon, and Jung Sung-il.

Notably, the drama is also a reunion for Song Hye-kyo and Kim Eun-sook who worked together before in the hit 2016 series “Descendants of the Sun”. The drama recorded 14.3% for an opening rating and wrapped up with 38.8%, also the peak rating of the series. The success of the drama undoubtedly brought Song Hye-kyo the ‘Grand Prize’ and Kim Eun-sook the ‘Screenwriter’ Award at the 2016 “KBS Drama Awards”.

Working together after three years, the unconventional theme of revenge might add another challenge to their collaboration this time around. In addition, Song Hye-kyo plays a character who plans revenge on both the perpetrator and the bystander to her terrible school violence without a light of anger and hatred.

Attention is focused on the series to see whether Netflix will be able to rebound with top actors and writers for another success at the end of this year.
