After Snowdrop episode 4, viewers are getting more worried about the fate of the female lead.
A character that makes the viewers of Snowdrop anxious is Hong Ae Ra (Kim Jung Nan), the stepmother of Young Ro (Jisoo). She is a mysterious, devout woman, with whom Young Ro has bad feelings. Because of her, Young Ro left home for 10 years and almost cut all ties with her father.
Notably, what’s going on between Ae Ra and Young Ro does not seem to be merely a conflicted relationship between a stepmother and her husband’s child. The audience are worried that Young Ro’s life might be in serious danger. In episode 4, a shaman tells Ae Ra she has to sacrifice 13 young virgins for her husband to prosper. Coincidentally, in a group photo, there are exactly 13 girls sitting in the front row with Young Ro in the middle, which makes viewers afraid they are 13 virgins whom Ae Ra is willing to sacrifice.
Many viewers also theorize that in the past, it was Hong Ae Ra who killed Young Ro’s biological mother, so she will not hesitate to get rid of the remaining threat, Young Ro.
