SISTAR’s Soyou reveals that she used to record everything she ate, including a spoon of rice, to manage her weight during debut days

The strict diet that Soyou, a former member of the famous girl group SISTAR, underwent to manage her weight in the early days of her debut has been unveiled.

The broadcast of MBN’s show “Not Staycation, but Starcation”, which aired on May 23rd, shows the scene when Soyou was eating with her hotel roommate – actress Ye Ji-won.

While sharing talks to get to know each other more, Ye Ji-won asked Soyou if she had to go on a harsh diet or keep checking her weights during the times she was active as an idol.

Replying “Yes”, Soyou revealed that SISTAR was loved for their healthy image but she was actually skinny during her debut days. She confessed, “I got caught by the CEO of my company while hiding in the bathroom to eat a small piece of cookie secretly.”

Soyou said she maintained a weight of 49kg for her height of 168cm during the early days of her debut, adding that she recorded everything she ate, from even a spoon of rice to side dishes, in the diet diary given by her company.

Upon hearing SISTAR’s weight management method, Ye Ji-won covered her mouth in shock. She exclaimed, “That was too harsh.”

Soyou then said SISTAR began to build a healthy body after their debut promotions and since then they have been loved a lot by the public.

Meanwhile, Soyou currently runs a Youtube channel called “SOYOUGI” and shares diet tips with subscribers. Soyou, who is still having a perfect body figure, is receiving great support from netizens and fans by introducing various exercise methods and great tips for weight management.
