Shin Min Ah’s journey to become a sought-after name by luxury brands in Korea

The 37-year-old actress’ influence is reflected in how she is loved by famous fashion houses such as Gucci, Chanel, Givenchy, and Cartier.

The star of Hometown Cha-Cha-ChaShin Min Ah has continued to achieve great success in many fields since the hit drama wrapped up. 

Shin Min Ah started out as a model for a teen magazine in 1998. Throughout her career, she has received numerous endorsement deals from domestic and international luxury brands. According to Soompi, she earned $2.8 million in 2013 only from TV commercials.

Following the success of the drama Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Shin Min Ah was officially appointed Gucci’s global ambassador.

In the series of photos introducing the brand’s new global ambassador, the actress exudes elegance in classic and exquisite outfits.

In an official statement from Gucci, the Italian designer brand explains the reason behind their appointment: “Shin Min Ah’s refined style, her belief in the pursuit of diversity, and respect for self-expression fits the philosophy set forth by Gucci.”

Shin Min Ah has also collaborated with Cartier many times over the years. She modeled for the brand’s watches in the exclusive photo shoot of W Korea and Harper’s Bazaar Korea.

In 2017, she was chosen to be the face of Cartier’s Panthere de Cartier jewelry in Korea.

Her pure beauty and youthful visuals have helped Shin Min Ah become a sought-after name by several beauty brands.

Earlier this year, the star of Oh My Venus was named Givenchy Beauty’s newest muse. As reported by Allkpop, she caught the eye of Givenchy thanks to her firmly established reputation as a top actress and beauty icon in Korea.

Fans of Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha have certainly noticed Shin Min Ah’s collection of high-end handbags in the drama. A few outstanding ones are the handbags from Couronne – the brand that Kim Woo Bin’s girlfriend is an ambassador for.

“I have worked with Roger Vivier not only as an ambassador,” the actress said in an interview with Dazed Korea, and revealed that she only wears Roger Vivier shoes in real life because of the brand’s “classic and calm identity”.

Shin Min-ah luxury brands

In 2020, Shin Min Ah was selected as the ambassador of Chanel Beauty in Korea. Their campaign was first published in Elle Korea magazine, then Marie Claire Korea – where she introduced lipstick from Chanel’s Rouge Allure collection.

According to Cosmopolitan, Shin Min Ah got to know her current boyfriend, actor Kim Woo Bin, on the set of Giordano Korea in 2014. In 2015, the duo appeared in the brand’s advertising campaign as models for the winter collection.

In 2009, the actress had her first campaign with Calvin Klein Jeans. Her shoot with Calvin Klein helps Shin Min Ah flaunt her toned and stunning body in a crop top and skinny jeans.

Known as one of the A-list actresses with the biggest impact in Korea’s entertainment industry, it’s no surprise that local brands also compete for Shin Min Ah as their muse.

In 2019, she became Michaa’s pick and was appointed ambassador for the brand’s first collection. She then appeared in the Spring 2020 campaign and wore the brand’s apparel on the show Chief of Staff.
