BTS’s leader Rap Monster said about their song got No.1 on Billboard: “It’s ours but it’s actually thanks to you all”

In the morning of 3/8, right after their song “Butter” charted No.1 on Billboard Hot 100, Rap Monster (RM) went on Weverse fan community and expressed his feeling.

“I have a lot of things to say but I keep on putting it off a bit… The thing is there are many easy words and words like thank you to say and I also feel sorry that I may not reach the your best expectations. I’m feel so happy that I always receive what we shouldn’t be deserved, it’s a reward with our name but the fact is it’s always thanks to you all that we received them. We have always lived with that thought kept in our hearts. Even tomorrow, or the days after that, it’s because of you all that we always feel strong. Thank you so much.

According to Billboard on the 2nd day (local time) BTS’s song “Butter” continued to topped the Billboard Hot 100 for the 9th time. Therefore, “Butter” surpassed Olivia Rodrigo’s record of 8 weeks in total with “Drivers License” to get the title of “The longest song to chart No.1 on Hot 100 this year”.

Released on May 21, the song “Butter” charted No.1 on Hot 100 from 5/6 to the evening of 17/7. In the evening of 17/7, “Butter” handed over the No.1 position for the their next song namely “Permission to Dance” which remained its No.1 spot for 2 weeks consecutively.

With “Butter” and “Permission to Dance” alternatively topped the chart, BTS’s record of long-term charting on Hot 100 continued to reach the 10th week.

With this No.1 on Hot 100, BTS set a new record in their career with 15 times No.1 on Billboard Hot 100 which includes: Dynamite (3 times), featuring song “Savage Love” Remix (1 time), their Korean song “Life Goes On” (1 time), “Butter” (9 time) and “Permission to Dance” (1 time)
