Revealing the identity of rapper Kim, who has been arrested for drug trafficking

This Korean rapper once got “fame” by mocking G-Dragon and was sentenced to prison for using marijuana in 2011.

On September 8, MBC published breaking news about a Korean celebrity, causing a stir among the Korean public. Accordingly, a 35-year-old male rapper surnamed Kim, a former member of a hip hop group, is currently being investigated for allegations of using, possessing, purchasing, and selling new synthetic drugs. Accordingly, Kim received drugs from a gang member operating in Daejeon.  In addition, he was also taught by a drug organization in Vietnam how to produce synthetic drugs. Since then, this rapper has been manufacturing and distributing drugs from smuggled undiluted liquid.

Searching rapper Kim‘s workplace, the police confiscated 7kg of synthetic drugs, worth up to 1.7 billion won.  Immediately, the incident shocked netizens, who continuously searched for the identity of this male rapper.  Currently, Korean media has revealed this rapper’s identity.  That is Maslo – a former teammate who used to be in the same hip-hop group with Bang Yongguk (B.A.P) and was also involved in a scandal of plagiarizing “Heartbreaker” and insulting G-Dragon in 2011.

Maslo’s real name is Kim Jung Min, born in 1987 (35 years old in Korea).  The male rapper has been active in the music industry since 2002. The male rapper’s stage name Maslo means “Master of flow.”

Maslo is a member of the popular underground hip-hop group Soul Connection.  There, Maslo met Bang Yongguk and formed the duo Blackout.  At that time, the leader of B.A.P had no intention of becoming an idol, and was still active under the stage name Jepp Blackman.

The duo released the album Blackout in 2011 and were accused of mocking and plagiarizing G-Dragon.  Before that, in 2010, G-Dragon was accused of using a sample of Florida’s “Right Round” in the song “Heartbreaker“.  Thus, Blackout’s using the same sample and the album cover that resembled it of Heartbreaker led people to think that the duo is meant to mock the leader of BIGBANG.
