Lee Soo-geun and Seo Jang-hoon were surprised by the real face of a person who resembles Jang Ki-yong but worried about being ugly.
On KBS Joy’s “Ask Us Anything, Fortune Teller”, which aired on May 16th, a male client in his 20s appeared with the concern of being “a maskfish man who resembles Jang Ki-yong. It’s so pressured to take off the mask”. “Maskfish” refers to a person who has an unexpected appearance, which can be either handsome or ugly, that shocks everyone when they take off their mask.
Lee Soo-geun and Seo Jang-hoon’s client, a social service worker, said, “I have been wearing masks for three years due to Covid-19 and people around thought I look handsome”, adding, “I even heard they say I look like Jang Ki-yong with masks on”. Seo Jang-hoon responded, “Just go. I’m sorry for sending you back so quickly although you came a long way here. But you’re talking just like Jang Ki-yong”, making everyone laugh.
The client confessed, “It’s not because I’m afraid of being ugly, but it’s making me more pressured about taking off the masks”, adding, “When I went out with a mask on, many people asked for my phone numbers and even wanted to take photos with me.”
Seo Jang-hoon, who was listening to his client’s story, said, “To be honest, you’re not that handsome. You’re not ugly, too. You’re just attractive enough. But not too handsome to the point that makes you worry like that?”. He then asked the client to take off his mask.
Later, Lee Soo-geun and Seo Jang-hoon were shocked when the client took off his mask. It was because the lower part of his face was quite big. The two MCs said, “The corners of your mouths look like Jim Carrey’s. Your mouth is so wide. What a twist”. The client complained, “Everyone gets disappointed when I take off my mask. I even heard people say I look scary.”
However, Seo Jang-hoon complimented his charming bare face without a mask on, saying, “I think it’s alright to not laugh loudly”. Lee Soo-geun added, “You’re not a maskfish. You look okay even when you don’t wear a mask. Don’t worry”.
