Once blamed herself for the 1% rating of a drama she led, Shin Ye Eun peaks in acting in “The Glory”

“The Glory” star Shin Ye Eun felt responsible for the failure of her past drama.

Netflix’s “The Glory”, a collaboration between writer Kim Eun Sook and actress Song Hye Kyo, is showing an upward trend in popularity.

According to Flix Patrol, an online content service ranking aggregation site on January 2nd, “The Glory” ranked 5th in the world as of the previous day in Netflix’s TV program category.

“The Glory” depicts the story of a woman whose soul was shattered by brutal school violence in her childhood and the desperate revenge she prepared meticulously for her entire life and those who fall into the vortex of her plan.

In addition to Song Hye Kyo’s terrifying and spine-chilling performance as Moon Dong Eun, a victim of school violence, the other actors also show equally emotional acting, maximizing the tension of the series.

In particular, everyone is applauding actress Shin Ye Eun‘s portrayal of the main villain. Shin Ye Eun plays the childhood self of Park Yeon Jin, the perpetrator of school violence in “The Glory”. Playing an Iljin female student, she uses violence and abusive language.

Park Yeon Jin harasses Moon Dong Eun with her mad eyes, and she shows creepy smiles when things go the way she wants. Shin Ye Eun’s acting as a villain, contrary to her past performances in web dramas “A-Teen”, KBS’s “Welcome”, and JTBC’s “More Than Friends”, drew even more attention.

While Shin Ye Eun is receiving favorable comments that she has reached the peak of her acting, the fact that she secretly struggled with her acting is being looked into again.

In 2020, on Kakao TV’s “Face ID”, while reading the reviews of JTBC’s “More Than Friends”, Shin Ye Eun came across comments that read, “The drama is so fun, but I’m upset that the ratings aren’t good”, “It’s a fun drama, but the ratings dropped.”

In response, Shin Ye Eun hesitated for a while and said, “What should I do with our drama? I really can’t sleep. I think I’m going crazy. I can’t do this. If I sleep and don’t think about it, dreams are connected to reality.”

Shin Ye Eun was blaming herself for the fact that “More Than Friends”, in which she took on the lead role, had only 1% ratings. She thought, “Is it because of me?” Her previous work “Welcome” also recorded the lowest viewership rating of 0.8%, so the pressure seemed to have doubled.

Shin Ye Eun also shed tears when she met her best friend Moon Ga Young and opened up about the difficulties she endured with her acting.

Shin Ye Eun confessed, “From a certain point on, I only thought about how to do this line better. On the other hand, the more I worry, the more I think, ‘I really want to do well’.”

Since then, Shin Ye Eun has been shown to practice acting until late in the morning as she feels a great responsibility for the success or failure of the drama.
