“on the street” by J-Hope (BTS) featuring J. Cole receives impressive achievements after the first few hours of release
The M/V is considered a gift from J-Hope to fans before his military enlistment.
On March 3rd, J-Hope released his solo single “on the street” featuring J. Cole, one day after the teaser was dropped. This is the male idol’s last work before he joins the military.
“on the street” is the personal lofi hip-hop song that J-Hope took part in the songwriting process. The song carries an “easy-listening melody and warm-hearted lyrics,” according to the description for the track. The word “street” in the title brought about mixed feelings: it is about the connection between J-Hope and street dance, as well as the unwavering effort of the idol to reach the top.
Nearly 2 hours after the release, the song quickly received 1.3 million views on YouTube and topped the iTunes chart across 20 countries.
Regarding domestic chart performances, “on the street” debuted at 7th place on Bugs, 72th on MelOn “Top 100” and 94th on Genie. The song is out of top 100 on FLO.
