New school violence drama “Minors” reveals official poster, “The directors visited juvenile detention centers by themselves…”

A new well-made school violence drama starring rookie actors as bullies is about to be released.

On June 9th, production company Light Pictures unveiled the official posters for the new drama “Minors”. The poster shows actor Kang Anna, who plays the school violence victim, and the suspects standing behind her with intense eyes, creating a creepy vibe.

This work drew attention as a project by writer-director Shin Sung Hoon to discover rookie actors. As a result, Kim Yi Jung, Kang Anna, Song Won Yeop, and Lee Ji Guk appeared in the final casting lineup after getting chosen through auditions.

What’s notable is the level of synchronization between the story and reality. Directors Shin Sung Hoon and Park Jae Seon actually met and interviewed those who had been repeatedly arrested and released from juvenile detention centers to complete the scenario. The two aimed to accurately portray the current situation of school violence among teenagers.

In addition, “Minors” holds a special meaning as it was produced with the cooperation of the Korea Communications Commission’s Incheon Viewer Media Center and Incheon Viewer Media Foundation.

Earlier, director Shin Sung Hoon shared, “I will present a high-quality drama starring hidden talents. I also endured desperation during my unknown days so I could understand their feelings better than anyone else. I will prove it with the result”, expressing his ambition.

The drama “Minors” will premiere on OTT platforms Coupang Play, DLive, and Olleh KT.
