Netizens point out the similarities between Jeon Somi in “Anymore” and BLACKPINK’s Rosé in her solo debut
Somi’s concept in her new MV for Anymore sparks controversy.
On December 25, Jeon Somi treated fans to a surprise Christmas gift with the MV for Anymore. Anymore is a b-side track on Somi’s first solo album XOXO. The song’s lyrics convey various emotions about a sentimental girl who is in love. Pink Sweats, the world-famous American R&B singer-songwriter, also participated in the writing and composing for Anymore.
Somi‘s MV received much attention from Kpop fans. Following DUMB DUMB and XOXO, Anymore MV wraps up a successful year of the female soloist from The Black Label.
On social media, netizens are having divided thoughts on Jeon Somi‘s new MV. Notably, many BLACKPINK’s fans accuse Somi of copying her senior Rosé. The first similarity is in the posters. Both female idols have blonde hair with similar styling. The posters’ font designs and layouts are also strikingly similar.
With the scene of a lovesick girl leaning against the wall in the Anymore MV, Somi also reminds viewers of the BLACKPINK member, which made Rosé’s fans angry. This isn’t the first time Somi has gotten into trouble for imitating her senior.
