After a top-tier performance at MAMA 2021, it seems that ITZY is going viral again among Kpop fans. The JYP girl group stood out with a well-prepared and eye-catching stage. Unfortunately, they could not take home any awards. Netizens have shared their thoughts on the reasons why ITZY is losing popularity.
When ITZY debuted with “DALLA DALLA” in February 2019, the song went viral and helped ITZY become a monster rookie. Netizens were impressed and said JYP truly had a talent when it comes to girl groups. DALLA DALLA is the song with the highest digital score of 2019 among Kpop girl groups.
However, contrary to expectations, ITZY‘s charm is declining over time. This year, ITZY’s comeback results were even surpassed by aespa – a rookie who has just turned a year old.
Among the late 3rd generation – early 4th generation idol groups, ITZY is unarguably the girl group with the most impressive performance skills. However, ITZY is famous for their choreography but often comes under controversy over their vocals. Even the group’s main vocalist, Lia, sometimes makes mistakes in live performances, sounding nasal or cracking her voice.
