Is this really something worth making a national petition for?
Many people are negatively reacting to the news of Huening Bahiyyih, the younger sister of TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s Huening Kai, making her debut as a member of girl group Kep1er by ranking second in Mnet’s “Girls Planet 999.” Since the last broadcast of “Girls Planet 999,” netizens have criticized Huening Bahiyyih on social media or online communities for getting to debut thanks to her brother’s popularity.
In addition, a National Petition about this matter was even made on the Blue House’s website. On October 24th, a netizen posted a petition titled “I petition for the eviction of Huening Bahiyyih, who became a member of a girl group thanks to her oppa’s influence and illegal voting.” The author claimed that as Huening Bahiyyih is the younger sister of TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s Huening Kai, who has a fandom of 4 million people, it can be said that she was selected thanks to her older brother. OP also pointed out that there are problems such as illegal voting through USIM chip hoarding in some Southeast Asian countries, virtual number voting through text plus which supports issuing overseas virtual numbers, and fraudulent voting using fake phone numbers. The petition has drawn more than 100 people to sign and is being considered whether it would be disclosed.
As such, criticism against Huening Bahiyyih is overheating and making people raise their eyebrows. The problem is that many are attacking some members from a group that has not yet made its debut properly, and personal attacks against Huening Bahiyyih are also very concerning. Illegal voting is something that needs to be closely investigated by Mnet, not an individual member’s problem.
