Pettion for KBS to stop the broadcast related to Kim Seon-ho’s private life scandal surpassed 6000 signs

The debate over Kim Seon-ho’s private life is still attracting a lot of attention.

National broadcasting station KBS criticized for reporting about Kim Seon-ho’s private life controversy

On October 29th, a petition was posted on the website of the KBS Center for Viewers’ Rights, titled “I request for KBS2TV’s “Entertainment Weekly Live” broadcast about Kim Seon-ho to be stopped.

The petition was posted before the “Entertainment Weekly Live” broadcast, arguing

“Many experts (on legal broadcasting) have already suggested excessive interest and broadcasting to be restrained, saying it is personal privacy.” After the celebrity officially apologized and the accuser accepted it. The celebrity also dropped out of all programs,” he said. “I don’t understand why a national channel broadcasts on this topic at a time when even the broadcasts of stimulating YouTubers are being criticized.”

He then said,

“I don’t even know what it’s for,”He added, “We are requesting the suspension of broadcasting related to celebrities’ individual privacy.”

As of 6 p.m. on October 30th, the petition obtained 6,696 signatures, far exceeding the target of 1,000. If the number of people in the petition exceeds 1,000 within 30 days, the person in charge of the show must answer the petition.

However, the part dealing with the controversy over Kim Seon-ho of KBS2’s “Entertainment Weekly Live” aired as it is. Regarding the controversy over Kim Seon-ho forcing his ex-girlfriend A to have an abortion, lawyer Heo Joo-yeon said,

“The crime of abortion was inconsistent with the constitution in 2019. The crime of adultery under the pretext of marriage was also abolished in 2009. For now, even if the contents of the disclosure are true, there is no basis for criminal punishment,” she said. “However, he is not free from all legal responsibilities. It can be a civil problem. In fact, he might have to pay 3 million won for claiming damages if it was true that he had promised to marry her for the abortion to happen and then didn’t.”

Currently, there are a lot of postings on the “Entertainment Weekly Live“’s viewer bulletin board and the website of KBS’ viewer rights center asking for an apology, such as “I’m too disappointed of KBS,” “Too much criticism for this program,” “KBS is blind to ratings,” and “I ask for “Entertainment Weekly Live” to delete the episode and officially apologize to actor Kim Seon-ho.”

Attention is focused on when the controversy over Kim Seon-ho‘s private life, which is still overheated, will end.
