Nam Tae Hyun and Seo Min Jae Attend Arrest Warrant Examination for Drug Use and Express Apologies
Nam Tae Hyun and Seo Min Jae are at a crossroads of detention on charges of methamphetamines administration.
Today (May 18th), at 10:30 a.m. KST, the substantial examination of the arrest warrant of Nam Tae Hyun and Seo Min Jae, who were indicted on charges of violating the Act on the Control of Narcotics, took place.
At 9:53 a.m. KST, Nam Tae Hyun attended the preliminary examination of the suspect in pretrial detention at the Seoul Western District Court. Nam Tae Hyun appeared wearing all-black attire, glasses, and a mask.
When asked by reporters if he admits to the charges, Nam Tae Hyun briefly replied, “I apologize,” and moved on.
Seo Min Jae also arrived at the court shortly after. Seo Min Jae, dressed in a white shirt and all-black suit, bowed her head and said, “I apologize. I will sincerely cooperate with the investigation.”
Previously, suspicions of drug use arose regarding Nam Tae Hyun and Seo Min Jae. Seo Min Jae, a participant in “Heart Signal 3” in August last year, posted photos taken with Nam Tae Hyun on his Instagram with the caption, “Nam Tae Hyun used meth. And the needle he used is in my room or office cabinet. And he hit me.” Netizens then reported Nam Tae Hyun and Seo Min Jae to the police.
Subsequently, Seo Min Jae revealed he had a dispute with her boyfriend Nam Tae Hyun, and due to stress, she consumed more psychiatric medication than the prescribed amount, losing her sanity.
She apologized, saying, “I uploaded posts unrelated to the truth. And we reconciled. I am truly sorry for causing concern to many people.” However, the police had already begun the investigation.
In September of last year, hair samples were collected from Nam Tae Hyun and Seo Min Jae and sent to the National Forensic Service (NFS) for analysis, which detected a positive reaction to methamphetamines.
The results of the substantial arrest warrant examination for Nam Tae Hyun and Seo Min Jae will be determined this afternoon (KST).
In March, Nam Tae Hyun was also under investigation by the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office for drunk driving in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
