In the 4th episode of “Street Woman Fighter” aired on September 14, the dance crews competed in the mission “4 top hits of KPOP”.

This was a mission in which every 2 crews faced off each other with the songs from the same artist. There were songs of BoA, the show’s judge and the leading artist of the Korean Wave, CL, Hyuna, and Jessi.

PROWDMON and WAY B competed fiercely with CL’s songs, CocaNButter and HOOK with Hyuna’s songs, HOLYBANG and LACHICA with Jessi’s songs, YGX and WANT with BoA’s songs. After the battles, PROWDMON, HOOK, LACHICA, and YGX were the winners. In particular, the team that got the highest score was YGX (896 points). PROWDMON scored 870 points, WANT 804 points, LACHICA 764 points, HOLYBANG 736 points, HOOK 725 points, WAY B 530 points, and CocaNButter 475 points.

Although the 4 teams who lost to the battles were WAY B, CocaNButter, HOLYBANG and WANT, only CocaNButter and WAY B competed in the final elimination battle. In the case of CocaNButter, as they scored the lowest points, they got a slot in the elimination battle. The production team decided to excluded WANT from the elimination battle because they scored the highest points among the 4 teams who lost.

In fact, the most controversial part of this episode was the way the opponent of CocaNButter was chosen. Through MC Kang Daniel, the production team said to Lee Jung, leader of YGX, whose score was the highest, “We will let you decide which crew you want to select for the elimination battle“. In particular, the production team asked Lee Jung to choose the team to participate in the elimination battle after consulting with her crew members in only 1 minute. Other fellow dancers were shocked that the cruel rule suggested by the show’s production team. In response, WAY B’s leader, NOZE couldn’t hold her nervousness; she said, “This is so cruel.

Receiving the mission, Lee Jung showed a sign of disapproval, and she asked, “Do I have to decide this?“. During an interview with the show’s production team, she shared, “It’s too cruel. Although I won the first place, I didn’t enjoy this privilege.

After considering, Lee Jung chose WAY B. WAY B’s leader, NOZE understood Lee Jung’s decision, she said, “I think she made the right choice because the score of our team has not much difference with CocaNButter’s. It’s understandable that we have to compete in the elimination battle.“. Unfortunately, WAY B was finally eliminated after the battle with CocaNButter.

Netizens were annoyed at how the candidate for the elimination battle was selected. They believed that when Lee Jung was asked to choose the crew for the battle, it was not a prize or privilege for her but more like a punishment. In fact, Lee Jung and YGX did make a wise decision that people could understand in every circumstance; otherwise, they would have been criticized intensely even when they won the battle fairly. Most viewers believed it would have been more appropriate to direct the two teams with the lowest points to compete against each other in the elimination battle. However, what a regret that the show decided to use an irrational method instead of a fair selection.

The ratings of the show continued to rise remarkably. Started at 0.822% on August 24 (based on the data of Neilson Korea), “Street Woman Fighter” ‘s rating increased more than 3 times to 2.593% after the 4th episode was aired.
