“May I Help You?” ratings dropped to 2% ahead of finale: Hyeri still can’t break away from Deok Sun after 7 years?

“May I Help You?”, starring Hyeri, is suffering from sluggish ratings.

Episode 15 of MBC’s drama “May I Help You?” which aired on December 21st, recorded an average nationwide viewership rating of 2.7% (according to Nielsen Korea). This is a 0.6% drop from the previous episode (3.3%).

“May I Help You?” premiered to a viewership rating of 3.9%.  Since then, except for 4.0% in episode 8, all of the episodes so far have stayed in the 2-3% range.

“May I Help You?” is MBC’s first Wednesday-Thursday drama in a year. Previously, MBC abolished Wednesday-Thursday dramas last year after “On the Verge of Insanity”, which ended in August last year. The subsequent dramas were changed to the Friday-Saturday time slot.

“May I Help You?” is led by Hyeri and Lee Jun Young, who are both idol-turned actors, so the interest in their collaboration was greater. Lee Jun Young has established himself as a popular actor through Netflix’s “D.P.” and “Love and Leashes”. However, “May I Help You?” fails to grab the same amount of attention as his previous works.

Hyeri’s previous drama, KBS2’s “Moonshine” also failed to become a hit. After starting her acting career in 2012, Hyeri has filmed many works, but after 7 years, her representative drama is still tvN’s “Reply 1988”.

It’s not necessarily negative that Hyeri’s name is still stuck with “Reply 1988” and “Deok Sun”, but it would be better if she could break away from that image and show something beyond it someday.

Meanwhile, the final episode of “May I Help You?” will air at 9:50 pm KST on December 22nd.
