
Listener numbers of male idols’ songs on Melon in 2021: BTS dominates the chart, but the two most praised names are SHINee and NCT
Not only the title tracks but also NCT and SHINee’s b-sides also have impressive achievements.
South Korea’s Melon chart recently released data on streams and listenership of songs on their platform in 2021 (as of September 15). Through this data, the online community has summarized the ranking of the songs of male idols with the highest number of listeners on Melon this year. It is clear that BTS still has a commanding lead over the rest of Kpop as the two songs they released this year occupy the top and second spots. However, in comparison to BTS, two other boy groups, SHINee and NCT DREAM, are cited and appreciated the most by Korean netizens. Not only did the title tracks, but also the b-sides of these two boybands, gain notable success this year.
