Lisa set new records with the physical sales of “LALISA”, surpassing almost all BLACKPINK’s albums

BLACKPINK’s Lisa proves herself to be the best-selling K-pop female soloist.

BLACKPINK’s Lisa has bagged another achievement that so far, no solo female artist in Kpop has been able to.

Earlier today (February 10) fans of Lisa received joyful news as the female idol’s first solo single album “LALISA” officially exceeded 800,000 copies sold on Gaon after 5 months since its release.

Specifically, the single album “LALISA” has sold 808,427 copies to date, making Lisa the first female K-pop solo artist to reach this milestone. This also means LALISA has surpassed Wanna One‘s mini-album 1X1=1 (To Be One) (805,290 copies sold) to earn the title of the best-selling debut album in the history of Gaon.

In the physical ranking of all albums BLACKPINK has released since debut until now, LALISA’s sales are currently only second to the group’s 1st full album THE ALBUM released in the second half of 2020.

Lisa sold more copies than almost every BLACKPINK’s old album and surpassed both fellow members Rosé, with 600,000 copies for the solo album -R-  released a few months before Lisa and Jennie, with 150,000 copies sold for single album SOLO released in 2018.

It can be said that Lisa is holding a lot of unprecedented records of Kpop, even her teammates have to be afraid. But besides the congratulatory comments, a part of the fans of the youngest BLACKPINK member is still unhappy because they think that Lisa would have achieved this achievement sooner if it wasn’t for YG‘s “sabotage” in the middle of the road.

Some netizens even asserted that Lisa was capable of hitting the million milestone, but YG did not produce enough albums compared to the fans’ demand. The BLINK fandom is dissatisfied with YG constantly canceling orders and stopping album production right after Lisa’s debut, which affects the female idol’s achievements.

Some comments:

– That’s so amazing, Lisa.

– If YG is still producing, the sales must have reached 900,000 copies by now.

– I’m so angry when looking at YG’s sales! From stopping production, to canceling orders, and  35postponing, … why do they try to do those things with Lisa only?

– If YG hadn’t canceled the order and stopped producing the Kit so quickly, she would probably have reached a million copies by now. What a “great” company!

– It’s still YG that doesn’t know how to make money…
